The Happy Rose Tree
Years past, my friend left, plants in my care,
She said, “Speak to them, for they’ll know you’re there.”
Awkwardly, I talked, though it felt quite absurd,
Yet the plants believed, flourishing undisturbed.
Later, a friend’s experiment came to light,
Three plants he tested, with words taking flight.
Love to the first, neglect to the second,
Hatred to the third, a sad fate beckoned.
The loved one bloomed, vibrant and alive,
The neglected wilted, unable to survive.
The hated one withered, its spirit undone,
A lesson learned: love, for all, is the sun.
So I painted a rose tree, happiness imbued,
Reminded that love is essential, not skewed.
In a world longing for affection’s sweet touch,
Let love grow, for it heals, and means so much.
